A veteran civil and criminal litigation lawyer, Joe Tacopina has maintained a successful New York practice since the mid-1990s. The Law Offices of Tacopina Seigel & Turano, PC, maintains headquarters in midtown Manhattan, as well as an office in Newark, New Jersey. Now in his mid-40s, Joe Tacopina has represented clients in more than 100 cases to verdict and achieved success in the great majority of them. In one notable undertaking, his firm successfully defended a Long Island gym teacher against false allegations of sexual abuse. In another case, his practice achieved a not guilty verdict for a Rikers Island assistant deputy warden accused of masterminding the prison heist of a Salvador Dalí painting. Recently, he received on the of the largest civil verdicts in New Jersey, as well as an acquittal for a NYPD officer accused of rape and burglary in a case that garnered national media attention.

Reflecting the high-profile nature of many of the cases he has been involved in, Mr. Tacopina is a regular guest on national media outlets. He has provided expert legal analysis on programs broadcast on ABC, MSNBC, CNN, and Fox News. Joe Tacopina maintains membership in the New York Council of Defense Lawyers and holds a seat on the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers’ legislative committee.
